Electrolysis is the only FDA approved treatment for permanent hair removal. It is safe, virtually painless, requires no recovery time, and highly effective for most people.
You can have electrolysis almost anywhere on your body, such as your eyebrows, chin, upper and lower lip, jawline, cheeks, breasts, underarms, abdomen, bikini line, fingers and toes, legs, and back. Treatment sessions can range from 15 minutes to more than an hour depending on the area(s) being treated.
Electrolysis works by applying an electric current into the skin with a very small needle shaped electrode or metal probe. This device goes directly into each hair follicle and destroys the root, making it impossible for the hair to grow back.
Most people see some results right away, but the number of treatments needed to see full results will vary for each person. The amount of hair, genetics, hormones, nutrition, and your health all play a role in how many treatments are needed.
If you’ve waxed or tweezed recently, you may need more frequent treatments than if you shaved. Waxing and tweezing removes the follicle, so you may have some hairs slowly growing back from those methods that will need to be addressed in future electrolysis treatments. After each treatment, your hair should grow back thinner and finer. Many people return at least weekly or biweekly for treatments—each lasting 15 minutes to an hour—until you get the result you want.
You may have slight redness or tenderness immediately after treatment, but it should disappear in a couple of hours. There is very little risk of complication or serious skin irritation when electrolysis is performed by a skilled practitioner.
For the first 24 hours following treatment, you should avoid any type of activity that could irritate hair follicles like excessive sweating, tanning, and prolonged sun exposure or make-up and lotion application.Say something interesting about your business here.
